Please take the time to read the following information which we hope will assist you in gaining an understanding of and make best use of the facilities provided: –
- Greetham Retreat is a NO SMOKING Smoking is not permitted within any cottage or the communal areas of the buildings. Smoking is permitted outside but please use the sand filled square metal tubs and not the plant containers to dispose of your used cigarette ends.
- An Inventory List of all items contained within the cottage is included within this folder. Please check for accuracy and report any damaged or missing items.
- The heating and hot water comes from a centralised system, therefore there may be a small delay in the hot water coming through to your taps.
- The electric shower is isolated by a pull cord switch situated in the bathroom. Once this is on, the orange light will glow on the shower controls. Press the shower control button once to operate and again once to stop the shower.
- The extractor fans in the bathroom can only operate when the light is activated. They can be switched off if required by the additional switch outside the bathroom door next to the light switch.
- The bedroom door is a fire door and is fitted with intumescent strips which help block heat and smoke. This door should always be kept closed especially at night when sleeping for your own safety and protection.
- Some light fittings throughout the cottage are also emergency lighting which will illuminate in the event of a power cut, they are located so that you can leave the premises safely even at night. They are fitted with small green led type light which shows that the batteries contained within them are charging properly. For further information on Emergency Procedures in the event of a fire please read the Fire Risk assessment contained in this folder.
- Heat and smoke alarms are installed in all cottages for your safety and protection.
- The manufacturers operating instructions for all electrical appliances in this cottage are available in a separate dedicated folder, located in the kitchen cleaning cupboard for your use and guidance.
- Please report any faulty equipment to the proprietors as soon as possible so that they can arrange for replacement or repair as appropriate and reasonable in the circumstances.
- Please ensure dogs are kept off all furniture, including sofas and beds. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up excessive pet hair or any other mess caused.
- Dogs must not be left unattended within the cottages at any time.
- Please hang and place any wet outdoor coats, clothing or footwear in the laundry room Drying Cupboard in order for them to dry out and also to help keep the cottages clean.
- The courtyard is available for all guests to use. Individual tables and chairs are not allocated to specific cottages they are all for joint and shared use. An additional patio area, table and two chairs are located outside Wendy’s Wing front door for your use.
- The outside lighting will normally switch off automatically at about 11pm. If guests wish alter the times that lights switch off then please speak with the owners who will consider altering them, but only, if there are no objections from other guests. Please always be considerate to others when using the courtyard area.
- We have supplied a large Ordnance Survey Map located on the wall in the Rear Reception area outside the laundry for your information and reference. It covers the area surrounding Greetham Retreat as far as the coast in one direction and the City of Lincoln in the other. We are sure you will find this useful when planning any days out.
- We have also provided a selection of leaflets detailing places to visit that we believe you may find interesting. These are also displayed in the Rear Reception area outside the laundry room.
